Call for Active Participants in Music Sessions

Music Sessions

August 24, 26, and 28, 2008
Grand Cube Osaka

A music session will be held on the evenings of August 24, 26, and 28, 2008.
Any participants of IUCr2008 are invited to join the sessions, as players or as part of the audience. Any type of music or instrument is welcome: classical, pop, vocal, strings, winds, keyboards, folk instruments, solo and ensemble, all are welcome.
The stage in the auditorium is ready for you and a good pianist will accompany you upon request. You will not need to use any microphones or other acoustic enhancements.
The auditorium is equipped with a grand piano, and can accommodate up to 300 people (please no eating or drinking in the auditorium).
Each performer or group has a time slot of 10 minutes.
The session will take place from 19:00 to 21:00.

International Joint Ensemble
As a program of music sessions, an international joint ensemble is planned. If you play violin, flute or such small music instruments, please bring them to Osaka and join in the international ensemble. The numbers may be the popular string quartet of Haydn, flute quartet of Mozart, various types of piano trio, and so on. Any request from you are welcome.
